Traveling Murphy’s 2016 Bucket List

2016 will be my last year in my 20’s. While turning 30 is not the end of the world I think it is the perfect excuse to create a bucket list of life experiences for 2016.

  1. Stay at a Bed & Breakfast.
I am not sure why it has taken me so long to stay at a B&B. I love meeting new people and everyone I have ever talked to about B&B stays said they met lots of new people. Any suggestions where I should try?
  2. Try a Soufflé.
Ever since my first time at Morton’s Steakhouse I have wanted to try a soufflé but never remembered to order it before dessert time came around. When I picture a soufflé I always think of the decadent chocolate ones you see everywhere but recently I came across a recipe for a cheese one, so I am open to the idea of trying a couple in 2016.
  3. Go Snow Skiing (or attempt to).
Putting this on my bucket list is a complete surprise to me. I hate snow and have never even thought about skiing. I just love the romantic idea of skiing and then warming up in a ski lodge with hot cocoa. Any snow hills or ski resorts you recommend me trying?
  4. Dine Farm to Fork.
I know I am a little late to the game since this trend was a really big hit in 2015 but I am making it a personal goal to try it this year. I pass so many farms on my way to work so this is something I have thought about numerous times. A real foodie should strive to know where his/her food comes from.
  5. Make a Proper Martini
I am a huge martini fan! I am the friend that will start texting everyone Wednesday at 4:55pm asking if we are going to Martini Room’s Flight Night. I have tried to make martinis at home numerous times but they never taste like the ones I enjoy in restaurants. So this year I want to take my mad mixology skills to the next level.
  6. Wine Education
I will be the first person to recommend a bottle of wine to a friend but I base my recommendations on taste. I would like to learn the difference between wines for more reasons than just how they taste to me. I would also like to develop my palate so I am able to pair food with the best wine. A wine education is something that even the most seasoned wine drinker should strive to continue.

I am sure my bucket list will continue to grow as I cross off these items and learn of new experiences. What do you think I should add to my 2016 bucket list? Did you have life experiences you wanted to do before you turned 30?
